The boys and I went out to romp around the playground near our house. It was bitterly cold but we just needed to feel the fresh breeze in our hair and smell the sweet scent of freedom from our sometimes overburdening confinement. I thought, what a great opportunity to try to get some action photos; knowing already that real photogs must learn to take their camera with them always. I'm sure I was close to filling up the 2G memory card prepositioned in the camera. And, besides the heavy jackets and the visible snot, we had a great time and got some fantastic shots. Here are a few of both boys.

My wife purchased me a "Cannon Rebel Xsi" for Christmas in the event I ever wanted to get involved in amateur photography. And, because that is currently a hobby plan for me I took her up on the venture. I have had the camera for three days and have now decided I need somewhere to show my talent. Not that I've gained any of the necessary perspective yet. I've been frantically reading the instruction manual and an educational amateur photo book I purchased. The whole thing is quite exciting.
My goal is to brake into the family portraiture business. This will involve manipulating all my wife's friends into becoming my guinea pigs, purchasing multiple “how to” books, subscribing to a photog magazine, and shooting everything everywhere I go. Eventually I'll tell everyone that I'm a famous photographer and charge for my work. Dare to dream. At least my wife is happy I'll be out of her hair for a while and she's got me dangling on a string doing all kinds of chores to show my appreciation for such a magnanimous gift. Oh how I love that woman!!
The endstate of all this rambling is that I've created a blog and will now be introducing some of the photos I've taken. Please feel free to give me ideas regarding what I should be shooting, how my photos look, or anything else that may be helpful in my quest.
